Appointment fees and BULK BILLING when eligible

Appointment Classification

BULK BILLED ( under New Medicare incentivised Bulk Billing model ) FOR ELIGIBLE CLIENTS AND APPOINTMENTS WITH A VALID MEDICARE CARD. OTHERS WOULD BE PRIVATELY BILLED

Minor Service (5 mins)
Private Fee 45 $ / Medicare Rebate 17.90 $ / Gap (out of Pocket) 27.10 $

A brief service for an obvious problem characterised by the straightforward nature of the task that requires a short patient history and, if required, limited examination and management, eg: Medical Certificate for the common cold. This may only for regular clients due to billing logistics.

Specific Service (10 mins)
Private Fee 85 $ / Medicare Rebate 39.10$ / Gap (out of Pocket) 40.90 $

A service that requires the General Practitioner a selective history and examination of the patient, to assess and manage the problem. eg: If you have a single medical problem and has never been to a doctor before.

Extended Service (20 mins)
Private Fee $140 / Medicare Rebate 75.57 $ / Gap (out of Pocket) 64.43$

A service distinguished by more complex tasks required of the general practitioner when confronted with several alternative diagnoses which require a detailed history, multiple system examination, possible investigations and management. eg: 1-2 medical problems or any new mental health issues.

Comprehensive Service (40 mins)
Private Fee $200 / Medicare Rebate 111.50 $ / Gap (out of Pocket) 88.50 $

A service that requires of the general practitioner a complex intellectual process, involving exhaustive history, multiple system examination and the possible arrangement and evaluation of complex investigations in consideration of multiple alternative diagnoses.

Fees

Carousel Medical Centre has joined New Medicare incentivised Bulk Billing model for eligible clients / other consultations under Medicare and Non Medicare consultations are billed at the discretion of your treating doctor. The cost will vary depending on the complexity of your needs and the amount of time required to adequately address them. We will do our best to be as accurate as possible in informing you of any costs ahead of your appointment.

Wound care and consumable fees:

10 -30 $ out of pocket wound care fee applicable for consumables .

Iron Infusion cost

160 $ for the procedure and 30 $ for consumables

Driver Medical Fees

Standard driver licenece assessment         :180 $

Heavy vehical driver licenece assessment :250$ ( excluding add-on tests)

No Show Fees:
The standard no show fee would be $65 per appointment and you will receive an immediate SMS or email with an invoice  ,when you miss /cancel your appointment without notice. This will follow up with a call or letter from the clinic requesting the penalty fee and you would not be able to book an appointment until this is paid in full.
 

We are adopting  New Medicare incentivised Bulk Billing model only when eligible.  Below clients are fully bulk billed for all consultations, including some of the procedures.

• Children up to 16 years old are bulk billed.
• Generally patients over 65 years of age are bulk billed.
• Defence Veterans are bulk billed.
• Healthcare card holders are bulk billed.
• Childhood immunisations are bulk billed.

Children under 16, pensioners and Health Care Cardholders will be bulk billed for consultation but there may be a small gap of fees for other services like procedures.

Cancellations

We need 24 hours notice if you wish to cancel an appointment prior to midday or a minimum of two hours notice for afternoon appointments. If we receive late notice of your cancellation the fee of 65 $ may also apply. This enables us to reschedule the day for other patients. The standard no show fee would be $65 per appointment and may apply if you miss your appointment without any cancellation notice.

Worker's Compensation Appointment

It is important to inform the receptionist each time you come in for a worker's compensation appointment. This will ensure proper billing and check-in verification processes.
